English is not the world's only language
Name Your Salon is working hard on multi-language versions of this site, where both instructions and names are in a variety of languages. At the moment we are putting the finishing touches to versions in Mandarin, Hindi, Japanese, Spanish and Italian. But until these see the light of day, we are only accepting the submission of - and presenting to name-seekers, names recognizable to speakers of the English language. Click to see our non-English top-ten lists in French, Spanish and other languages.

Your own Web Address
Face it, the Internet is here to stay and any business that want's to be successful should make the most of it. Even if you consider yourself technically incompetent and IT (Information Technology) illiterate, you can easily get on the web with your own site. And, what's more, it need not cost you more than 10 dollars a year - the price of your own dot.com domain name.
At nameyoursalon.com we make it extremely easy to find hair salon names that are available as dot.com addresses. If a name in your shortlist is available we will light up a button and by clicking on that button you will be taken directly to a "domain registrar" for name registration. Once you have registered a name you can set up a free site at Google (http://sites.google.com), Yahoo, Wordpress or hundreds of other places and use your own domain name to direct trafic there. If this all sounds like Greek to you (and you are not Greek) find a teenager who can help you.
Got any Crazy Ideas
Incidentally, Jack and Anna didn't think up all the names on this site - nor did the other namers at WhaChaCallIt Corp. OK, they did think up a lot of them, but without ingenious people like yourself this site could hardly claim to be the worlds greatest repository of creative hair salon names! Click to submit your own ideas and share them with the hair dressing world.
Name Your Salon Naming Conventions
We do not normally store personalized names, eg. Sally's Salon, Bob the Barber, etc. You can add your name to our suggestions in your shortlist if you so wish to.
We do not store localized names, eg. Calcutta Cuts, New York's Finest, etc. You can add your locality to our suggestions if you so wish to.
We do not store "alternative spellings" such as using C's instead of K's. Please use the alternative spelling function to generate a selection of alternative spellings - or just create your own in your shortlist of favorite names.
To keep our names crisp and easily accessed we don't add certain words to the beginning or the end of a name. Instead we let name-seekers add those words themselves. For example we have the name "Hairforce" on file. But we don't store "The Hairforce", "This Hairforce", "Our Hairforce", "Hairforce Heaven", "Hairforce Inc.", as this would only make your name seeking process more tedious.
We have an extensive list of preludes and concluders to add to the beginning and end of the names in your shortlist, which you can access using the pre and con buttons at each end of your shortlist rows.
Our Advisory Board
In order to maintain the highest quality in the names we offer on this site - names that match up with the professional standards set by Jack and Anna at Whachacallit Corporation - we have assembled a group of industry insiders - The Whachacallit Advisory Board.
The WAB is made up of dedicated industry heavyweights with the smarts to tell a clinker from a clincher. You can depend on us...
